Aliscia Denae Thomas, 16, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Central High School Gymnasium in Pageland. She was buried at Oro United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pageland.

Thomas was born on March 24, 1996, to parents, Minister Michael Thomas (Melissa) and Shekita Covington (Dewayne). She grew up in the Pageland community. She regularly attended Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Croghan. Later, she joined Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Pageland, and was an active member. Thomas was a junior at Central High School. She was employed at Bojangles in Pageland.

Thomas is survived by her father, named above; two sisters, Aniya Covington, Pageland, and Keona Lotharp, Jefferson; five brothers, Jaden Covington, Jashir Covington and Daquarius Sowell, all of Pageland, Ja’tee Moses, Quentin Smith both of Jefferson; grandparents, Beulah Sinclair, Pageland, Geraldine Thomas, Mt. Croghan. Billy Frank Sinclair, Marshville, N.C., Geneva Joines, Chesterfield, and Lessie Smith, Chesterfield; five aunts, an uncle, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Flemming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
