A person was killed in an explosion in a nightclub in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Also, 37 people were injured. That reports the country’s attorney general.

The prosecutor’s office, citing the RIA Novosti news agency, said the victim was a 43-year-old woman who worked in a nightclub. Four of the injured are in serious condition. According to medical sources quoted by the agency, among the victims was an Italian and Senegalese citizen.
The Azerbaijani gas company Azergas said that the explosion occurred at about three o’clock in the morning local time and was caused by a gas leak. It would be a gas bottle leak that was stored in the club.
A fire broke out after the explosion. The Ministry of Emergency Situations said search and rescue operations at the site had been completed.
