A driver hit four pedestrians this morning near Steenbeke in northern France. The Deputy Governor of Dunkirk confirmed that three of them had died.
The fourth victim was transported to Lille University Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver lost control of his car when he wanted to leave the village. The four were walking on the sidewalk at the time. Their ages range around 70 years.
The driver was detained. According to his initial statements, he fell asleep while driving.
