Google has started beta testing of Android 13 on Google TV. She didn’t communicate about this, but it did go a long way for the ADT-3 development kit. Therefore, the beta version is available for developers so that they can connect their apps to Android 13. However, it does not seem to work very stable yet.
Android TV and Google TV
9to5Google He writes that there are different test methods for Android TV and Google TV, but both have the option to test via the Android emulator on TV. However, it is not a very pleasant experience, because all different kinds of problems have already been reported. It turns out that with some apps not everything works if you connect a Bluetooth headset.
There are also other Bluetooth issues, because when you try to pair the Bluetooth gadget to the TV, you can’t search for Bluetooth options from the side button on the ADT-3. An alternative way to work for this is to enable ADB Control.
You should not want to change the buttons on the remote control too often, as the Remote & Accessories menu is currently not accessible when it comes to assigning buttons on the remote control. Do you have LG TV And if you participate in the beta, you probably won’t even be able to use the remote control at all.
Unfortunately, there’s still more that’s missing, but hey, there’s a beta version for that, of course: when you want to cast to a 4K TV, only the top left of the image appears. If you’re using the Google Play Movies app, 4K playback won’t work: you’ll just see a gray screen. In the case of iOS devices, the Google Home app is unable to establish a connection to the ADT-3 device, so (it’s no coincidence of course) that an Android device is recommended.
Hopefully, beta testing continues to work well and issues can be resolved soon. But in particular, developers can better customize their apps to fit the new Android 13 platform.
What do you hope will come to the TVs operating system? Leave it in the comments at the bottom of this article.
