Over the next ten days 280 matches will be played, in twenty games, regular British netball (a type of softball) and lawn bowls, played on grass. Also, women will be playing in a cricket match for the first time. There will be no football again.

The festival is similar to the Olympics, but only in the British Commonwealth of Nations. It is a way for even the smallest nations to shine with their athletes. It is also noteworthy that the sports festival is now held in Birmingham instead of London. Charles has already toured the site to meet athletes and stakeholders and put a heart into it.

She was, however, present when the torch was lit in October.

…she hid a secret message to be read tonight.

He then handed it over to Paralympic athlete Katina Cox.
