Club Brugge plays for its second team in the Challenger Pro League and the people of Brugge have received a lot of foreign reinforcements for this team in recent months. Blauw-Zwart has attracted another player.
Club Brugge announced that it has recruited Shion Homma for Club NXT. The 21-year-old winger comes from Albirex Niigata and a few weeks ago there were rumors of a €1.2m transfer fee. The Japanese move is still pretty amazing.
22 years
Homma will already turn 22 in August and is not a very young talent anymore. The Japanese is already the sixth foreign player at the heart of Club NXT. Brugge has already brought in Michael Clinton Obeyemi (Norway), Jonathan Voss (Denmark), Mauricio Cuevas (US/Mexico), Ibrahima Fofana (Guinea) and Tobias Jensen (Denmark). In addition, Club NXT also brought in an experienced striker with Lennart Mertens. In recent weeks, there has been significant criticism of the fact that major Belgian clubs have gone in for reinforcements for their youth team, with some fearing that this could be detrimental to the influx of Belgian talent. In the video below you can see Homma in action.
