TennisFormer tennis player Boris Becker was killed at the end of April He was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, Half of it must be served effectively. The former tennis star is said to have stashed around three million pounds sterling after declaring bankruptcy. His first week in a London prison did not go well for the Germans.
Why is Baker in prison? Watch it in this video:
In 2017, Boris Becker was unable to repay a loan of more than three million pounds (3.5 million euros) to a private bank and an investor, and therefore was declared bankrupt. However, the appointed guardian was skillfully deceived to help pay off his debts. At least one judge in a London court has found him guilty of four of 24 offenses alleged under British bankruptcy law.
Stinky dungeon and terrible food
And now Baker has been in a London prison for a week. This is not really easy. He has already complained about the stench in his cell and is also disturbed by the constant noises around him. Baker is also surprised by the cleanliness and limited living space in his cell, but what bothers him most is the quality of the food.
On Becker’s first night in prison, there was “canned beef” (canned beef) on the menu, which the Germans didn’t immediately like. Makes sense even if you’re used to eating fillet bourre and lobster every day. The portions are also “ridiculously small,” according to Baker. Becker also has to stick to a budget of just £10 a week. He uses the money to buy cookies, bananas and chocolates in the prison cafeteria in order to eat something delicious.
Soon more luxury?
But whether Becker would have to stay in his small six-square-meter cell for that long remained to be seen. According to prison sources, he will soon be allowed to move into a larger and quieter cell that he will also not have to share with other inmates. But until then, the German will have to learn to live with his new living conditions. His wife, Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, did not abandon her husband and had already come to visit him.
