FamousBritish chef Gordon Ramsay can transfer more than 4 million euros to his bank account. A judge ruled in his favour in a case against his former business partner Rowen Seibel.
Sibel Ramsey was indicted in 2014, but a judge ruled that Sibel was not a credible witness, providing only fabricated evidence. This Sixth Page reports. As a result of this ruling, Seibel Ramsay has to pay significant damages, in addition to attorneys’ fees that the TV chef has incurred in recent years.
Ramsay, 55, and Sibel, 40, opened The Fat Cow in Los Angeles in 2012, but when they were forced to close in 2014, Seibel claimed Ramsay had deliberately failed to expand the brand. In addition, the British chef had joined forces with other parties to continue the restaurant under a different name.
According to Ramsay, the case was very different and Sibel was “absolutely amazing”. “Seibel thought only of himself and tried to capitalize on the brand name that Ramsay has painstakingly built over the years. He was a very bad manager, dishonest, incompetent, and lied about everything that was stuck and loose. We did not expect any further judgment,” said the lawyers for the celebrity chief. Not this ruling.
Gordon’s friends are happy to finally close the case. “It’s been eight long and exhausting years, but Gordon feels empowered by the judge’s ruling. Now he can finally put this to rest.” Seibel’s legal team said it would appeal.
