Marianne Voss got her love on stage two of the Giro Don, the Women’s Tour of Italy. Yesterday she was defeated by world champion Elisa Balsamo, but now there was no measure for the Netherlands. Lotte Kobeki became sixth.
After the introduction, the women’s peloton had to run for the second straight stage. Take the Giro Don 113 km from Dorgali to Olbia in Sardinia, and it’s the perfect women’s speed trip.
Because of the strong teamwork of Trek-Segafredo and Jumbo-Visma, there was also another duel between Balsamo and Vos. Voss, who was finally caught yesterday, is now trying a new style.
The Dutchman went from a distance and surprised the world champion in samo. She outlasted her compatriot Charlotte Cole (Team DSM) and Balsamo. Lotte Kubiki, fourth yesterday, had to settle for sixth.
