Mercedes has introduced the EQS SUV, the SUV version of the EQS liftback. The batteries and electric motors are similar to those in the rear lift system, but the SUV is larger and can be equipped with an extra row of seats. The first cars are supposed to be delivered in Europe at the end of this year.
The EQS SUV comes in three different specifications and always has a 400V-107.8kWh battery, just like the Lift. The SUV comes as a rear-wheel drive EQS 450+, with 265 kW or 360 hp and 568 Nm of torque. The EQS 450 4Matic features all-wheel drive and is just as powerful, but with 800 Nm more torque. The EQS 580 4Matic is currently the most powerful model, with all-wheel drive, 400 kW or 544 hp and 858 Nm.
The 450+ will have a WLTP range of 660 km due to the lack of an additional 4WD engine. The other two models can drive a maximum of 613 kilometers with a full battery. This battery can be fully charged in a maximum of 10 hours using a 22 kW three-phase charger. The cars also support fast charging up to 200 kW, then it takes 31 minutes to charge the battery to 80 percent of the battery. The 450+ can drive 250 km after 15 minutes of fast charging. The EQS recoil can travel 770 kilometers on the same battery.
The EQS SUV measures 5,125 meters in length, 1,959 meters in width and 1,718 meters in height. The wheelbase is 3210 metres. This makes the SUV 10 centimeters shorter at the rear, a few centimeters wider and 20 centimeters higher. An SUV can also be equipped with an additional row of seats, so that the car provides space for seven passengers.
Like the rear lift system, SUVs can also be equipped with the MBUX Hyperscreen, which is a three-panel display. In recoil, this diameter is 56 inches. For example, the passenger gets a 12.3-inch OLED screen to display “dynamic content”. The car can see through the cameras when the driver looks at this screen and then dims this screen. MBUX, the car’s operating system, has an octa-core CPU and 24GB of memory. The EQS SUV will receive support for ota updates, allowing drivers to get additional features from the vehicle, some for a fee.
The EQS SUV is manufactured in the United States. According to AutoWeek The first cars were not delivered in Europe this year. It is not yet known how much the EQS SUV should cost.
