Teams meeting scheduling may have been disabled from Calendar in Outlook due to a crash.
Microsoft Outlook crash may prevent Microsoft 365 users from scheduling Teams meetings via Calendar. A crash will disable the add-on. Microsoft is investigating and fixing the problem. Fortunately, you can re-enable the add-on yourself.
The Teams Meetings add-in can be found in the menu bar of your Outlook calendar.
When the feature is disabled, most likely after a crash prospects, the icon will no longer be visible in the menu bar. It is also no longer possible to schedule a Teams meeting via calendar. Microsoft and Teams are investigating the issue and trying to find a solution as quickly as possible.
Until then, it’s just a matter of getting the add-on back in action. Reinstalling the app does not help, according to some official users. Microsoft offers tips via their support site for manually restarting the add-on.
In Outlook, go through the Menu to Options and click Add-ons
Is the meeting add-in for Microsoft Teams listed as inactive or disabled add-ons? Then click on it and enable the add-on.
To prevent Outlook from disabling the Teams meeting add-on, additional action is required via Registry Editor.
Go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Resiliency\DoNotDisableAddinList
Create a new (32-bit) DWORD value via Edit. Name: TeamsAddin.FastConnect and value 1.
Once confirmed, the add-on will not be disabled in Microsoft Outlook.
