Sorry, but now you’re clearly a fan of FromSoftware games, but would you compare a game from 7 years ago to a game like Elden Ring today? Both games have their strengths and weaknesses, but to me, The Witcher 3 is still one of the best games I’ve ever played, and that means something to someone who’s never played an RPG before. The story and freedom of choice are what makes the game so good, although I had to get used to the game because it was my first RPG.
Still, Elden Ring is probably a good game, and it’s still on my wishlist, but it’s in no way as innovative as The Witcher 3 at the time. FromSoftware used the same formula used in the Dark Souls games, only in the open world environment. Graphically, the game is beautiful, but not high quality at all, the game even works very poorly on new devices. I’ve played Dark Souls 3 a lot and the game is hard when you play it the first time and then you keep playing to try other builds, but the story or the world doesn’t change if you make different choices and that was something that was very good with The Witcher 3.
