European Nations League
Spain is the new leader in Group 2 of the League of Nations. A shattered home country easily beats the Czech Republic and leaps over Portugal to first place.
Spain coach Luis Enrique completely overturned the team that beat Switzerland 0-1. Only goalkeeper Simon and Morata held their place at the start for the Czech Republic match in Malaga.
Spain was simply too powerful for the Czechs. Halfway through the first half, that resulted in a 1-0 win. Asensio well prepared and Soler served (see video).
Spain had plenty of chances to lift the score, but only Sarabia managed to score deep in the second half after another superb attack with Gavi and Olmo in front (see video).
Only after the match did the players learn about the gift Portugal had given them of their loss in Switzerland.
