Spinning Mills for a record

The Hughberg – Region – Volunteer Millers Guild celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, Princess Beatrix opened The Year of the Miller on January 15, 2022! With this he paid close attention to Millers’ craft and gave the start signal for a year. National activities will be organized at this year’s festival like last Saturday.

In Huijbergen, a record attempt was made to operate as many windmills as possible from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. In the Netherlands, about 750 air and water turbines participated. But at the same time countries like the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Bulgaria, Austria, Denmark and New Zealand also participated, this time people woke up at midnight to let the mill run. Abroad, fifteen factories participated.

At Molen Johanna in Huijbergen, they are delighted that Mill has been allowed to participate in this milestone endeavor. In this way, those involved in the plant can draw attention to the Guild’s anniversary year, but also to the Miller craft. This record attempt is a huge success and underscores the unity of the Millers Guild. The record attempt is not the official Guinness record attempt, but who knows, maybe one day.

In Mol Johanna, hard work is still being done to build the educational space. Underfloor heating will soon be installed and installed outside the garden. The opening ceremony will probably take place in May.
