The TV series about Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s contract expiring continues. And now it is full of some intrigue. Including one with Club Brugge.
And Vanhaezebrouck himself continues to play his leading role to the fullest. That is, it continues to feed guesswork, consciously or unconsciously. That became apparent again in his press conference on Friday in the run-up to the opening match against KRC Genk on Sunday.
To a question about the rumor mill that he likes now also after Antwerp Club Brugge, he answered reluctantly at first. “We shouldn’t get too involved in all the things that are thrown,” he remarked latest news† “When the time comes, everyone will hear what the decision is.”
And when he was asked the very concrete question of whether he had already been contacted by other clubs, the following answer came: “I will not answer that, because it also should not be reported if it is not followed up.”
Modern?
This can of course be interpreted in different ways, but it still appears that an AA Gent coach has been contacted and/or spoken to other clubs. If this is Antwerp or Club Brugge or both remains to be seen.
