Video Shows Senator Taking His Legs When Storming Capitol Before Fueling Hooligans: Parodies Can’t Keep Up | Abroad

Hawley is a Trump supporter and, like the former president, is convinced that the 2020 presidential election is “stolen.” He was the first senator to declare that he would oppose Joe Biden’s electoral victory in any way possible.

Prior to the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Hawley was photographed going to greet the rioters with a raised fist. In the weeks before that, he had already stirred things up by spreading false allegations about the election. He received a lot of criticism because of this, including from his own party.

The Capitol Intrusion Commission has now shown footage from security cameras inside the building, showing the Missouri senator fleeing the same rioters who shot them moments earlier. The pictures – almost comedic – were met with loud laughter in the hall.

It wasn’t long before the photos made their way onto social media. There, all kinds of music tracks have been edited below the video, from “Chariots of Fire” (Vangelis) and the subject of British cartoon series “Benny Hill” to “Sometimes (I Run)” by Britney Spears, “My Heart Will” Go Eun (Titanic) by Celine Dion and “Run Up the Hill” by Kate Bush.
