Shots were fired at Dallas Love Field Monday morning local time. This airport is located approximately 10 kilometers from downtown Dallas. Immediately, photos appeared on social media of travelers hiding behind seats at the airport. Everyone was evacuated.

Dallas Police Commissioner Eddie Garcia said the 37-year-old gunman was taken to the airport shortly before 11 a.m. She went into the toilet and changed her clothes. She came out again in a hooded jacket, pulled out a rifle and fired several shots. Police said most of them appeared to be targeting the ceiling.

The Dallas Fire Department confirmed to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth that someone was transported from the airport to the hospital.

The police chief of Rockwall, Texas, told NBC5 Dallas-Fort Worth that he and his family were there. Max Geron was just going through a security check when they heard gunshots coming from near the box office.
