Igor Thiago may not be playing tonight, but it’s clear he wanted to be there for the clash. But apparently he had to go from the car park to the stadium with Club Brugge staff. This wasn’t exactly the best idea.
Thiago casually walked past Théo Verbeecklaan in the company of the Blue-Black communications department. He also had to pass the café where almost the entire Anderlecht team gathered.
Suddenly there was a huge commotion when he was identified and the police and observers had to quickly remove him. He was treated with a beer bath.
They were pursued to the stadium gate, where security forces were able to stop the reckless people. Some wanted to follow him, but were stopped.
It’s not immediately clear whose idea it was not to sneak through a loophole, but it could have been much worse.
Thiago is injured and has already played his last match for the club. He will be fine in pre-season with Brentford.
