Members of the On Stage community theater group have selected a play for the fall production and auditions for the cast are set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Theatre on the Green.
The play, “Take a Number, Darling” by Jack Sharkey, is a comedy that includes three male roles and three female roles.
Samuel French, Inc. gives this description of the play: “Since concert pianist Duncan Latimer and wife, Ellen, famous soap opera star, lead impeccable lives, their PR lady has no qualms over having a reporter from a scandal magazine interview them. But just before he arrives, so does Duncan’s old Navy buddy and Ellen’s former lover from her literally messy past and so does an extra wife Duncan forgot to tell anyone about.
It’s crazy and comical confusion all the way.”
There will be just four performances, Oct. 9 -12, at Theatre on the Green. Rehearsals in the theatre will begin Sept. 1.
Mike Hunter, who will be directing the play, said one of the male characters plays the piano, “although it could be faked.”
