Bungie angered fans by announcing that new dungeons coming with the Witch Queen expansion will only be available as standalone purchases or as part of Deluxe Editions.
As explained by the community manager Cosmo 23 On Reddit, Standard Editions of The Witch Queen and Season 5 tickets will not be able to access the three new dungeons to be released. Instead, two of the dungeons will be part of the Digital Deluxe edition, while the third dungeon will be part of the Digital Deluxe + Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack.
Dungeons are also for sale separately. “We also offer a separate way to purchase dungeons in the future, but it won’t become part of season tickets,” Cozmo23 explains.
Destiny 2 has never marketed dungeons in this way before, it has always been a part of free expansions or updates. Bungie might argue that releasing three dungeons in close quarters (Destiny 2 previously only had three new dungeons in its entire life) requires a new launch strategy, but fans aren’t happy with the news.
Cozmo23’s post has over 2,000 upvotes and should be commented on Most negative votes From all over Reddit. It’s a new source of contention between Bungie and fans after it was criticized before with transmission system And remove the Forsaken campaign from the game.
