Soaring visitors to the Pietje Pek restaurant in the heart of Bruges, music star Stromae suddenly slipped under the table. “We were totally surprised,” says Heidi Le Comte, business manager.

Last Wednesday was not a day like any other for Heidi Le Comte, manager of Pietje Pek restaurant in Sint-Jakobsstraat. Because suddenly only Stromae with his girlfriend stood at the door.

“Of course I know his music, but honestly I didn’t recognize him. It was a few customers who later pointed me out to whom we had guests. We were quite surprised they didn’t book. But they were lucky: there was still only one table available.”

According to Le Comte, Stromae can enjoy a nice meal in peace. “They ordered fondue and they obviously liked it. He was very sympathetic, friendly and very polite.”
