To get a more general overview of its monitor lineup, HP is now launching a new naming convention. The HP Series 7 Pro starts with eleven new models.
HP has listened to its marketing department and now uses clear names that let users instantly know which category they're shopping in. The PC manufacturer now divides its displays into “series,” followed by the number 3, 5, or 7. The higher the number, the larger the distinct range.
The Series 7 Pro display lineup will debut at the HP Amplify show in Las Vegas with no fewer than eleven models. These displays replace the professional Z displays. Additional change: Z disappears from the back screens. The HP logo takes its place.
All supported Series 7 Pro displays are factory calibrated and can be used by creative professionals, among others. HP is talking about DreamColor-class displays. Each model uses IPS Black panels.
The 11 models span four screen sizes: 27 inches (16:9), 34 inches, 38 inches, and 40 inches (all three are 21:9 ultrawide).
Three models (HP 727pm, 734pm, and 740pm) have an AI webcam that draws computing power from your laptop or desktop. There's a bit of processing power in the display itself that takes care of things like HDR, auto frame, and background blur.
The new displays are available in the US starting today. HP has not announced pricing yet. Euro prices and local availability are not yet known. Later this year, the rest of the display lineup will be updated to reflect the new naming convention.
