Fewer orders
Just Eat Takeaway's CEO Jitse Krohn talks about the positive start to the year. In particular, accelerated expansion in the United Kingdom and Ireland and “continued momentum in Northern Europe” make the CEO optimistic for the rest of the year.
However, the food delivery company saw a 6% decline in the number of orders, to 214 million orders. Excluding North America, which the group has long wanted to exit, orders fell 3%. Gross transaction value (GTV) fell 2% to 6.55 billion euros, although GTV excluding North America actually increased by 3%.
Just Eat Takeaway will cease all operations in New Zealand over the coming weeks. Also, the food delivery company is targeting 2 to 6% growth in total transaction value by 2024, excluding North America. Adjusted EBITDA will be around 450 million euros this year.
