AA Gent is increasingly focusing on its youth. However, they still have a lot of work to do to ensure smooth flow. The club realizes this and today was able to open the contracts of three local talents. They made it official.
Jill Ghent
“Bass Evers, Pablo Capela Rivera and Javier Barrez Fernandez sign their first professional contract with our club and help build a new generation of Gent within our youth,” said AA Gent.
“Bass Evers (December 2, 2008) has been defending our colors for a year and a half. He is also the goalkeeper of the national under-16 team. He has excellent feet, can play football under pressure and always remains calm. Last summer he took over the job.” He participated in the KDB Cup under 15 years. He and his teammates achieved fifth place after victories over Real Madrid and Ajax. At the end of the tournament, he was chosen as the best goalkeeper.”
3 outstanding talents
“Paris Fernandes (January 2, 2008) trained at Emilio Ferreira's EF Academy. The Belgian Spaniard can play as a left-back or as a midfielder. Javier is a left-footed player and is technically developed. Like Bas, he plays for our U-16 team. “He is at the top,” the statement added. Currently ranked. It is also part of the national selection.”
“Rivera (November 20, 2008), just like Javier Barrez Fernandez, came through the EF Academy. As a right-back, he eagerly exploits his pace and attacking qualities. Pablo is a real worker on the pitch for our team. Under-16s, just like Bas and Javier, also participated With our national team in the under-16 category.”
