2022 has started well for FC Emmen defender Jeff Hardiefeld. The Dutch second tier defender shows via Instagram posts that he is with… a female referee! Both his own account and that of KNVB Administrator Shauna Shkrulla show that the 26-year-old footballer and Shkrula are officially together.

‘It’s official jeffhardeveld’ wrote Shukrula with one of the photos of the duo huddled together and can be seen kissing during a trip to Rome. Shkrolla, now 30, has been a whistle-blower for KNVB since the 2009/10 season, has been a FIFA referee since 2017 and entered in September 2020 as the fourth official in the Kitchen Champion division.
Also this season Shkrula is active regularly as the fourth official in duels in the Kitchen Champions Division. At the start of the season she was present at the match between FC Emmen, the current club of her friend Hardeveld, and FC Eindhoven. For Hardeveld, that match did not have a happy ending. FC Emmen lost 0-1 and Hardefield was sent off with a red card in the final stage…
