US President Joe Biden believes that his predecessor, Donald Trump, showed his true colors when he said last week that he wants to become a dictator for one day if he wins the elections. “He’s saying it out loud now,” Biden said.
Trump said on Fox News that he does not intend to become a dictator in any new presidential term, “except the first day.” He repeated this in a speech he delivered last Saturday. He then immediately demanded increased oil production and the completion of the wall on the border with Mexico to stop all illegal immigrants.
According to Biden, Trump poses a danger to American democracy. He had previously said that Trump wanted to undermine the Constitution and that he would attack the rule of law and a free press if he returned to the White House for another four years.
There is a good chance that Trump and Biden will face each other again in next year’s presidential election. Biden is the only serious candidate among Democrats, and Trump is miles ahead in opinion polls within the Republican Party.
