Charleroi and Standard do not score in the Walloon Derby

The Walloon meeting between Charleroi and Standard announced itself in advance as a duel at the forefront. The first leg was halted at the beginning of December with a 0-3 lead for Charleroi due to disturbances by Standard supporters. Luca Elsner described feelings of revenge at Standard: “We are ashamed of that match.”

No fireworks

The promised fireworks failed to reach the field. The two teams gave each other little space and basically continued to play football during the match. There was no danger to the target. Standard had to submit to the match in the second half, but missed little. He was amazed when substitute Bayo managed to pull off a sharp corner just an hour later. Hinkinette responded with a germ in his foot.

Gradually, Charleroi became more and more threatening and the standard became more and more difficult. Zorgane kept an overview and found Heymans, whose shot was blocked by a teammate. Moments later, Kayembe came from the left, but went too far.

Sisako with chance

Ten minutes before the kick-off whistle, the Roach family suddenly had the opportunity to draw 0-1. Raskin made a good cross for Sisako. The French defender kicked once on the left side and found the crossbar. In summary, Pavlovic shot a long shot. The same fate befell an attempt by the hardworking Raskin.

Because of the lottery, Standard Ostend skips the thirteenth place. Charleroi remained seventh.
