China and the US continue to work on a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The idea is to meet the two in San Francisco next month. Wang arrived in Washington for the first time since 2018 and spoke in recent days with his US counterpart Anthony Blinken and US Defense Adviser Jack Sullivan. Wang has already spoken with Biden. In total, the meetings were held behind closed doors for more than nine hours.

Earlier, Wang said the US and China may have differences in Washington, but also common interests.
