Zoe was missing in the US state of California for so long that she was considered dead. But nothing could be further from the truth. After the disappearance of twelve years, a miracle occurred.
Michelle picked Zoe and her sister from the shelter when they were six months old. When the four-legged friends stayed with their owners for half a year, the unimaginable happened. “We went to the store for twenty minutes and when we got back to our home in Lafayette, Zoe was missing,” said the woman.
For years there has been no trace of the missing dog. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department said Zoe has been missing for so long that the microchip company has declared her dead since 2015.
But when no one expected it, a breakthrough occurred. A motorist had dumped Zoe at a property near Stockton, a town east of San Francisco. The dog was found about 100 kilometers from where it went missing twelve years ago.
Agent Brandon Levine scanned Zoey’s chip and got Michelle’s contact information – fortunately it turned out he still had the same cell phone number. “She was in complete shock,” he said.
“I definitely didn’t expect this to happen again, so I’m really excited,” Michelle said. “I am happy to be able to bring her home, make her healthy and allow her to enjoy the rest of her life.”
