Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition on November 11, featuring helicopters

Microsoft celebrates the 40th anniversary of Flight Simulator with the release of 40th Anniversary Special Edition from the game. The app brings with it new planes, helicopters, and familiar missions from old Flight Simulator games. Existing Flight Simulator owners can upgrade to the Anniversary Edition for free.

In November 1982, the first Microsoft Flight Simulator was released for the IBM PC. With Windows 95, we were already in Flight Simulator 6.0. In 2006, Microsoft released Flight Simulator X, after which it remained silent for a long time. The latest version of the game is simply called Microsoft Flight Simulator again, and so now comes the 40th Anniversary Edition.

For the first time since 2006, helicopters will be part of the game again. New gliders and aerodromes (and old classics) have been added and the Airbus A-310 is so detailed that almost every button can be used. The first (working) motorized aircraft, the Right Flyer, is also part of the modernization.

Especially for Gamescom, the Flight Simulator team has released an update: City Update 01, with aerial photos of five German cities: Hanover, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Bonn and Cologne.

November 11th is the day the 40th Anniversary Edition of Flight Simulator will be released.
