A major outage at Google caused problems tonight. Due to the malfunction, Spotify music streaming service and Snapchat photo and video sharing platform were not working. Many other systems for companies large and small have also been affected by the issues.
The culprit appears to be Google Cloud. That service’s status page stated that network problems led to a 404 error. The impact of the issues was widespread.
