Former South African President Jacob Zuma has been sent back to prison. A Pretoria court ruled on Wednesday that his release on medical grounds was unlawful.
Zuma, 79, was sentenced to 15 months in prison in early July for contempt of justice. He refused to testify in a corruption investigation. However, as a result of his hospitalization, the relevant Department of Justice decided on September 5 to grant him conditional release on medical grounds.
