Genoa-Atalanta goals will continue. Three of the five are for framing. Two of them appeared in the Jupiler Pro League, and one in the Eredivisie. Charles De Ketelaere (22 years old) adds his tenth goal of the season to his “best”: a rebound followed by a powerful pass. 'CDK' keeps Atalanta on Champions League track.
look. Great goal 0-1 from De Ketelaer
Editors in Italy will soon have to choose between Teun or CDK. Or a combination of both.
Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's most popular sports newspaper, opened the page on Atalanta with the following headline: Kittilleri Champions. A play on words with his name and the fact that his goals keep Atalanta in the race for an Italian team's fourth and final Champions League ticket.
Today, CDK requires some attention again. A brilliant goal gave Atalanta the lead over Genoa. Hands went behind ears. Because the Genoa fans targeted him during the entire first half, he took his time. He got that yellow card.
For the fourth match in a row, De Ketelayer was decisive in the Italian League: a goal against Frosinone, two assists against Udinese, two goals against Lazio and now a pearl against Genoa. He just continues the streak. Since mid-December, De Kittilairi has scored 8 goals in 10 matches and added four more. He has been decisive every 55 minutes over the past two months. Can be counted.
However, Atalanta's big hero was not De Kittilari this weekend. Ruslan Malinovsky, an old acquaintance from the Jupiler Pro League (former Genk), brought Genoa with him. The home team won't be cheering for long.
Dutchman Teon Koopmeineers decided the match with one of his skills: a free kick. After De Kittilairi (10 goals and 7 assists this season), the former Arizona player is the most productive player in Atalanta, with 8 goals and four assists. VAR then claimed his turn. It took a few minutes to cancel a goal by Scalvini (Atalanta) due to offside.
De Ketelaere was already on the bench at the time. Gasperini changed it before the hour mark. From the bench, CDK watched as Zappacosta and Bilal Toure made it 1-4 in the final minutes.
End of the second half
1-4 Bilal Toure's goal!
And also Bilal Toure on the scoreboard. The striker scores the final numbers from 1 to 4.
1-3 Goal by Davide Zappacosta!
It will still be 1-3. Zappacosta ends the counter.
Yellow card for Alexei Miranchuk
Matteo Ruggeri is replaced by Hans Hateboer
10 additional minutes
Due to the length of the VAR phase at 1-3 rejections, we were given at least ten extra minutes. Will Atalanta survive?
Yellow card for Aaron Martin
Alessandro Fogliaco replaces Vitinha
Yellow card for Martin De Roon
This 1-2 lead is still slim. It becomes clear again. Karneski keeps his team ahead.
Giorgio Scalvini is replaced by Rafael Tolui
Stefano Sabelli replaces Junior Messias
VAR: Goal rejected
Then not 1-3. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) studied the stage for minutes, and eventually ruled it offside. So Genoa is still in the game.
1-3 Goal for Giorgio Scalvini!
It seemed like a complete victory for the visitors. A goal keeper Martinez does everything he can, but is unable to keep Scalvini's effort wide. Atalanta with a double lead.
Milan Badelj is replaced by Caleb Ecoban
Kevin Strootman replaces Aaron Martin
Charles De Ketelare is replaced by Bilal Touré
De Ketelaere's match is over. Bilal Toure is his replacement.
Gianluca Scamaca is replaced by Alexei Miranchuk
Emil Holm is replaced by Davide Zappacosta
Goal 1-2 after a free kick from Teun Koopminerz!
The rain continues on great goals in Genoa. Kopmeinerz curls a free kick beautifully into the corner. Atalanta leads again
