More space for the five pillars

De Vijf Pilaren Primary School in Buitenweg urgently needs more space. The Islamic Primary School started small in August 2020, with three groups and about 45 students. The school has now grown to 215 students in December 2023.

De Vijf Pilaren's current building is the Carry van Bruggenhove School Building 2 which is a building with a gross area of 1,321 square meters (GFA) and housing 10 classrooms and 1 playroom. The school wants to start with an additional kindergarten class and therefore needs an additional classroom. The playroom is currently used as a staff room, and the school does not want to give up this space. Taking over the room that the Junis now use as a language play house has also been rejected by the school, as they wish to remain at IKC.
In consultation with the municipality, De Vijf Pilaren can move to a classroom at the corresponding school at Carry van Bruggenhove 23 after the spring break. After the 2024 summer break, the aim is for De Vijf Pilaren to have access to 4 additional classrooms, making a total of 13 classrooms and a playroom at his disposal.
Permanent housing will be provided, possibly in another neighborhood, once the school meets the benchmark of 318 students (which includes 14 classrooms).
