Rolls-Royce is not allowed to enter Italy due to odd interior design | the cars

Rolls-Royce Phantom is not permitted in Italy due to the crocodile-leather interior. The authorities in the port city of Livorno confiscated the car.

Customs discovered the interior of a Rolls-Royce, which was imported by a Russian car company in the capital, Rome. The car features a custom interior with crocodile leather on the seats, armrests and door panels.

Crocodiles are a protected species, and trade in alligator skin goods is regulated under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). This means it is possible to treat an alligator in your vehicle, but only if you have the necessary permits.

This is not the case with Rolls-Royce. However, the parties are looking into the possibility of removing the crocodile skin, which is likely to remedy the problem. Russian car tuners are famous for their interior decoration with exotic animal skins. Russian car brand Darts was once a car with an inboard whale bar.
