Russian forces regroup and prepare for a new offensive in Donbass, according to Kyiv | Abroad

Russian forces are regrouping in eastern Ukraine to continue their offensive in the Donbass region. Kyiv reported this, but the information has not yet been independently confirmed.

“In the Kramatorsk region, the enemy has regrouped to resume its attacks on Seversk,” the General Staff said today. Kramatorsk was also shot, apparently. The city is part of a conglomerate with a population of about half a million people. The headquarters of the Ukrainian army is located there to fight in the Donbass.

The northern part of the conglomerate, Slovyansk, is again a target for the Russians. The General Staff said that there the Russians tried to use artillery fire to improve their tactical position in a number of villages north of the city in order to resume the offensive.

Fighting is also taking place near Bakhmut, an important traffic junction. According to the Ukrainian army, there were, among other things, air strikes on a thermal power plant. According to that army, the Russians mainly want to occupy the cities of Bakhmut and Soledar.

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian armed forces were also able to stop the attacks. “The occupiers faced fierce resistance, incurred great losses, and were forced to withdraw in a shameful manner,” she said. This was the case, for example, in Bilohorivka and the villages of Vershyna and Spirne.
