“It is very good news to welcome Thai Airways back to Brussels Airport. This direct daily connection to Bangkok strengthens our position as a European hub and provides our passengers with more travel options to Asia. Our airport also provides an ideal gateway to the rest of Europe for Thai travellers,” says Brussels Airport CEO Arno Vest: “We look forward to great cooperation.”
With the return to Belgium, the Thais will be active in the Benelux countries again. The company does not fly to Schiphol, although it has codeshares there. For example, customers can fly to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines and then transfer to a Thai flight to Bangkok. KLM and EVA Airlines fly non-stop from Schiphol to the Thai capital.
reorganization
After a major reorganization, in which half the staff was fired and the fleet was greatly simplified, Thai Airways is now ready to expand again. The company recently announced an order for an additional 45 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
