The Belgian teams faced Reality Week in Europe. Thanks to many great results, it was also a great week for labs. The sky’s the limit, and now it’s important to set records with three teams in the conference league after the new year.
Royal Antwerp beat Barcelona, Union SG beat Liverpool, KRC Genk beat Kokariki, and Club Brugge beat Bodo/Glimt. Only KAA Gent did not draw at home in Serbia against Maccabi Tel Aviv. But still: 12 out of 15 is very good for Belgian teams.
He is also proficient in laboratories. In addition, Club Brugge earned a bonus point by winning the group in the Conference League, while Union SG also earned a bonus point by qualifying for the Conference League.
In the final scenario, the Belgians could have received three full points for the coefficient this week, but that did not happen because Ghent lost points and because Toulouse (Léonion) and Ferencvaros (Genk) did not lose.
Last season, the Belgian teams collected a total of 71 points, an absolute record that resulted in 14,200 points for the coefficient. With three teams remaining in the conference league after the new year, they could try to equal or better that record. Their score currently stands at 58 points, and they are hopeful for what comes next.

Belgian teams also know immediately what awaits them. As group leaders, Club Brugge are assured of qualification to the eighth finals and have a bye round, and will not play again until March 7-14, with the first match being played away from home.
Interesting draw coming up?
Ghent and Union SG will play on Monday in the play-off draw. They will play in the qualifiers on February 15 and 22 for a place in the round of 16. Gent are seeded and play away first, Union SG must play at home first.
