ProTour kicks off darts again this weekend. The Players’ Fifth Season Championship was on the agenda in Barnsley on Saturday. Six Belgian Tour card holders were present.
Van den Berg and De Decker proved to be the strongest of these six. De Decker beat Raymond van Barneveld, among others, towards the quarter-finals. Van den Berg was also impressed by the elimination of Adrien Lewis with an average of 109.
The draw determined that the Belgians had to face each other in the quarter-finals. De Decker fought bravely at this, but the number 66 in the world eventually had to admit his supremacy for first place in Belgium.
Van den Berg appeared to have good cards to take the overall win, but stumbled in the semi-finals to Australian Damon Hita 7-4. After, among other things, the unfortunate “Robin Hood” at Chance at Exit 170, his day ended. Heta then defeated Gary Anderson 8-6 in the final.
Tomorrow another tournament for the players on the program. Tournaments are counted in the world rankings, winning the tournament generates 12,000 pounds.
