A photo of Alderworld wearing the Al Duhail scarf has already been circulating on Twitter. A deal is in the making. It should be official on Sunday.
Alderweireld has indicated his desire to leave and Spurs also wanted to collaborate on the transfer. Antwerp already sniffed the right defender, but could not meet his salary requirements.
Al Duhail can do that. Alderweireld traveled to the Middle East to find a deal with his potential new employer. A three-year contract is on the table. Almost done deal. An image of the Red Devil wearing the Al Duhail scarf has circulated on Twitter, but the transition won’t be complete until Sunday.
Alderweireld has been with Tottenham since 2015. He still has an agreement until mid-2023, but he won’t fit in with new coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s playing style. Alderweireld has participated in a total of 236 matches so far, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.
