The love for the club does not fade, even after retiring from football. Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to AC Milan just a few months after ending his active playing career with the club.
The 42-year-old Swede has become an operating partner of RedBird Capital Partners for its investments in sports, media and entertainment. In this position, he will also serve as a senior advisor to AC Milan’s shareholders and management. This was announced by RedBird Capital Partners, the American investment company that bought the club.
“For me and my family, this is a real return to the club where I ended my football career and now begin the next chapter of my life,” Ibrahimovic said in a press release after the official announcement. He continued that his love for AC Milan will never disappear. The opportunity to be part of the Rossoneri’s future in a meaningful way is something that can only be dreamed of.
Ibrahimovic was contracted with Milan twice. Last from 2020 to 2023. He ended his career in June. He also played for Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus Torino, city rival Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and LA Galaxy, among others.
