Polish President Andrzej Duda offered Ukrainian refugees shelter in the official residences of the head of state on the initiative of his wife Agata Kornhauser Duda. The refugees live in two villas, one of the official residences of the president.
The Polish head of state owns two palaces in the capital and four official residences elsewhere, including a villa on the Hel Peninsula in the Baltic Sea north of Gdansk and a residence at the ski resort of Wisla, near the Czech border.
According to Duda’s Chief of Staff, Adam Kwiatkowski, the refugees will be housed for several days in two official villas for the president. The president’s wife is scheduled to visit the refugees there soon.
According to the border guards, 922,400 refugees have arrived in Poland since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
