A major update was released today for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 (Classic). This brings several important improvements to the watch.
Galaxy Watch update March 6, 2024
After we reported in the fall of 2023 that Samsung wasn't updating its latest Galaxy Watch models frequently enough, it only took a few days before a new update appeared on the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. But a swallow does not create a summer, and modernization does not create a modernization policy. Lo and behold, once again, Samsung took too long to deliver a new security patch for Watch 6 models. After all, the November patch is already four months old – while Samsung promises quarterly updates for its watches.
But hey, today is the day. And it's not just a 280MB+ update that's being rolled out right now. Firmware version XXU1AXB7 includes three major clock improvements. First, we point out the March security patch, which replaces the November patch.
Secondly, the Watch 6's touchscreen firmware is specially updated. This doesn't happen very often – or at least not so often that Samsung mentions it separately.
Then there Workout trackerfunction, which allows you to view all your health statistics from your watch directly on your new Samsung TV/smart display/projector/etc. To do this, you must use the same Samsung Account on your watch and your TV.
Availability and installation
At the time of writing, the update is available on all Bluetooth models in the Watch 6 series, but not yet on the 4G versions. As always, you can wait until Galaxy wearable The app itself informs you that you can install an update for your watch. But you can also go to the Galaxy Watch 6 tab Galaxy wearable continued Clock settings Press then Update the watch software.
Exactly this update is also expected soon on the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. It has already been rolled out elsewhere, but not yet in the Netherlands and Belgium.
