With the last shovel of sand stirred, a word of thanks and a tour of the work, last week we celebrated the completion of the construction of the public space at Basket Maker and Scheper.

The final parts of the basket maker and creator
On Tuesday, April 2, contractor Kiggen from Ospel and contractor GMI from Geleen began preparing the last part of the Mandenmaker and Scheper for living. Councilor Jöric Fransen (Public Space): “The work was carried out according to plan with care and attention to quality. This means that the construction of the public space in the new Hoebenakker district has been successfully completed.“
Activities
The works included constructing sidewalks, parking lots, agricultural areas, a sewage system, public lighting, and green spaces.
Improving road safety
In the near future, significant investments will also be made in public spaces elsewhere. One of the major projects is the development and redesign of Weinerstraat, Neustraat, Horik, Uliker and Kriegelmosweg in Ospel. The aim of this extensive work is to improve road safety and accessibility for all road users, as part of the mobility plan previously adopted by the Municipal Council.
