With just over two months to go until Dragon Age: The Veilguard releases, BioWare is getting the game’s marketing machine into full swing. The studio has released no fewer than four new trailers online, highlighting all aspects of the game’s combat.
The first video below highlights the importance of good preparation. Are your characters optimally developed for the upcoming encounter? Do they have the right equipment? And have you brought the right party members? These are all choices that can lead to victory or defeat.
In the second we see the actual combat. This ranges from the smooth real-time movement to all the strategic options and menus to control your allies. It’s great that you can combine attacks.
The third video gives you an overview of the buffs and improvements. After all, during an intense battle, it is useful to provide extra protection to your allies. You can also poison your enemies so that their health bar will drain faster.
The fourth video shows “Initiators, Detonators, and Ultimates.” For example, just like in Mass Effect, you have skills that have a combo effect if you use them one after the other. With the Initiators, you can break through enemy defenses and deal extra damage with the Detonator. Finally, you can finish off your opponents with the Ultimate or Finisher.
