Android 14 is available for Samsung Galaxy S22

Android 14 was already rolled out for Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones at the end of October, and now it’s the turn of their predecessors. The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra will also receive an update to the latest version of the operating system. Many thanks to readers Rinus and Jürgen, who reported this to us!

The size of the software package is about 3 GB. If the update is available to you, you’ll automatically receive a message. Are you impatient? Then you can also manually check if Android 14 has already been released for your Samsung Galaxy S22. You can do this by opening Settings and going to Software Update. Once you click “Download and Install”, the rest will take care of itself.

Since, as mentioned earlier, it is a large package, we recommend downloading the software over WiFi. This prevents you from using your data package immediately. Also make a backup of your smartphone.

This way, no important files will be lost if something goes wrong during the update. Ready to install? Then put your smartphone on the charger so that the battery does not run out of power.

The update also includes One UI 6

Android 14 is a relatively simple update. For example, you can customize the lock screen to suit your needs and set more subtle flash notifications. In addition, Google mainly focuses on improving privacy and accessibility. You can read more information in our Android 14 review.

This update also brings One UI 6 to the Galaxy S22. This is the software shell that Samsung puts on Android. The Quick Settings panel has been redesigned to give you easier access to frequently used features.

Samsung will be rolling out the new version of Android to several smartphones in the coming weeks. The company previously shared an overview of the data, but that doesn’t appear to be entirely true.

Have you already installed Android 14 on your Samsung Galaxy S22? What do you think of the new features? Tell us about it in the comments below this article!
