“Clean hands” and “note” for short
At the end of 2018, the police and the public prosecution carried out several house searches in the context of a Investigation of money laundering, bribery and match-fixing in the world of football. Two agents of the players, Moggi Byat and Dejan Velikovic, were subsequently arrested. They are said to have paid under the table a lot of money to coaches and clubs to help transfers of some players represented by agents. The black money was received by the clubs and coaches, and some of them had also been arrested for interrogation in the past. It is also alleged that Pyatt and Velkovic were involved in influencing certain football matches, in which, among other things, referees were bribed.
Velikovich decided to make a deal with the courts, speaking in exchange for a reduced sentence. Thus, it became the first “unfortunate” in our country. This deal was approved by the Indictment Chamber (AI) last week. In this AI rule, you can now read about what – and in particular: about whom – Velikovich opened his book. To be clear, this is not a conviction, but a kind of summary of what the court issues of Velikovich’s statements and his black books. Accordingly, the public prosecutor must decide who he wants to bring before the criminal court in a possible trial.
