After a long period of early access, the popular Disney Dreamlight Valley finally has an official release date. The game will be released on December 5, 2023. Unfortunately, the title will not be free-to-play from launch, as developer Gameloft chose to maintain the current formula.
Although the game was originally going to switch to a free-to-play model upon its official launch, Gameloft decided to sell the game as a premium version. New players will have to pay around €39.99 after December 5, 2023 to get the standard edition of the game.
According to Gameloft, “Disney Dreamlight Valley can continue to ensure a premium gaming experience for all players in this way.” The studio promises to continue supporting the game with free updates. These add new characters, areas, clothing items, furniture, and more. Of course, purchasing moonstones remains optional.
For players who purchased the Founder’s Pack, nothing will change. Anyone who purchases the Founder’s Pack before or on December 4 will have access to cool cosmetics from the Gold Edition, as well as 2,500 Moonstones.
The Gold Edition of the game also includes the Disney Dreamlight Valley Expansion Pass. Other than the name, A Crack in Time, unfortunately no other details are known about the expansion card.
Here’s a complete overview of all versions available as of December 5. We assume that US prices translate unchanged into their euro equivalents.
