“The tumor was discovered during a routine examination of the cardiovascular system and laboratory examination of samples taken,” said Albert Einstein Hospital, where Pele has been staying since August 31.
The former Brazilian player’s personal advisor said earlier that there was no serious situation. “There’s nothing to worry about. He’s undergoing a bunch of tests. You can’t do everything in one day,” said his business partner, Joe Fraga.
Pele was hospitalized six days ago. According to Brazilian media, the living legend underwent a series of routine tests after being diagnosed with an unspecified disease.
