Prince Harry will be in the Netherlands with his wife Meghan Markle from this weekend. For the former actress, this is her first trip outside the United States since she and Harry turned their backs on the British royals. The couple doesn’t have to rely on an audience with the Dutch royal couple.

It’s no secret that Invictus Games, an event for ex-soldiers and wounded veterans, is dear to Prince Harry. His visit to The Hague to open this week has long been announced. However, it was only recently announced that his wife would be accompanying him.

Since the couple left the British royal family a few years ago, the Dutch royal couple Willem-Alexander II and his wife Maxima will not receive them. Harry and Meghan will also spend the night in a hotel, rather than the royal palace, as is the norm for members of the royal family.

The same goes for their security. Harry and Meghan’s squad will take care of their safety when they attend the games later this week. The Invictus Games will take place from Saturday, April 16 to April 22.

It is not known if Harry and Meghan will travel to the UK next.
